RACE 09_03
Under Armour to Light Path - Out & Back
The start line was marked on the middle of Broadway. Racers took off between traffic heading for the city. Previous victors, new challengers, experienced RACE 09 competitors filled the field. Olivia had her eyes set on the top of the podium for the third time. A 100% win rate. Previous winners, Tommy & Liam, talked down their chances pre-race. Good thing they did, they didn’t make it onto the podium.

RACE 09_02
Auckland Museum - Out & Back
Wynyard Quarter & High St Checkpoints
Crazy, wild, fast starting, traffic stopping, finger breaking, bridge chasing, climb grinding. 02 had it all.
Starting from the Iconic Auckland Museum, racers bombed directly down into the city with over 800m of downhill to navigate. Introducing multiple checkpoints for the first time, racers headed to North Wharf, and then rat raced back through the city via the second checkpoint on high street.
The final climb back up to the Museum, separated those who were prepared to hang it tough and those that weren’t.

RACE 09_01
Harbour Bridge to Mt Eden Summit
Our debut race. 30 tenacious runners. Sea to Summit - Point to Point. Launched straight onto a brutal climb, followed by the hot strip of Ponsonby Rd lead racers to the top of Newton. From there the route variations began as runners searched for smidge of advantage over their compatriots. First to the Mt Eden Summit, took the glory, it was carnage and awesome.
