RACE09 started in 2020 with our first race dashing across Auckland to finish at the summit of Mt Eden.
In 2021 we open the year again with a race to the top of the mighty Maungawhau. This time it’s different.
Not because of how we are racing, but why we are racing.

In December 2020 RACE09 regular (he’s practically family), Warrick Wood, received news no father should ever have to hear. His young three-year-old son, Frankie, was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour.
Frankie, Warrick and their family spent a few weeks in Starship before being able to return home for Christmas and Frankie’s birthday.
They have just finished their first round of radiation treatment and are awaiting results.

For our first race of 2021, we race for Frankie!

100% of entry fees will be donated to the Wood family.
100% of proceeds from very limited RACE09 apparel will be donated to the Wood family.
The RACE09 community is here to support Frankie, Warrick and their whole family like they have supported us.
